MOM between the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development &

the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA)


The Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukheri, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Director General of the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) Engineer Ali Abu-Sabaa, in the framework of strengthening and expanding their partnership in the fields of research and development in light of the scarcity of water and climate change.

 To achieve the objectives of this Agreement, the both parties established a Joint Committee which will hold regular meetings at least once a year or whenever the need arises. The Joint Committee shall report annually on achievements, setting priorities and action plans for the targeted projects.

 In conclusion, the two sides stressed their keenness to follow up the implementation of all the provisions of the memorandum of understanding to serve the issues of agricultural researches and development, and to develop and build capacities in the field of sustainable agricultural development.

 

The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) is an international non-profit organization founded in 1977 and headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon. It is one of 16 centers supported by the Consultative Group on Agricultural and International Research (CGIAR). It aims to improve the lives of individuals through research and training in dry areas by contributing to increased productivity and improved food quality through the development and improvement of natural resources.
