H.E Prof Ibrahim Adam El Dukhiri the Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), continued his work visit to Mauritania. H.E Prof El Dukhiri was received by the Mauritanian Prime Minister in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Director of the Prime Minister's Office. During this meeting, H.E Prof El Dukhiri gave a briefing on the current trends at the Organization and its activities in Mauritania and its desire to expand. The Prime Minister congratulated the Director General and assured him of Mauritania's support for his directives and the readiness of his Government to expand cooperation with the Organization. At the end of the meeting, H.E Prof El Dukhiri presented to the Prime Minister the shield of the AOAD.

 His Excellency Mr. Mohamedou Ould Mohamed Mahmoud, President of the Mauritanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, received H.E Prof El Dukhiri. The meeting focused on the importance of the role of the private sector which plays an important role in agricultural development. At the end of the meeting, H.E Prof El Dukhiri presented to H.E Mr. Mohamedou Ould the shield of the AOAD.

At the Panafrican Agency of the Great Green Wall H.E Prof El Dukhiri was received and welcomed by the Acting Director General the Administrative and Financial Director of the agency. The acting director expressed the desire of the agency to establish a fruitful partnership with the AOAD. An initial signing of a framework protocol for cooperation took place, which will be signed by both Director Generals of the AOAD and the Agency on the sidelines of the Summit of the Great Wall Presidents that is taking place in Sudan.

H.E Prof El Dukhiri then visited the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, where he was received by the Secretary General of the Ministry on behalf of the Minister. During this visit, H.E discussed the AOAD's plan to support the Arab countries in implementing the UN agreement for combating desertification and the symposium, which the organization intends to hold in order to launch a network of African organizations involved in combating desertification.

The next meeting was with the National Director of Loans and Savings Funds, a microfinance institution to combat poverty among farmers, educators and fishermen. Moreover, both sides discussed the possibility of establishing a partnership between the AOAD and this institution, especially in the field of capacity building in some Arab countries.

The last meeting was with H.E the Minister of Veterinary Affairs. During the meeting H.E Prof El Dukhiri discussed the aspects of cooperation between the Ministry and the AOAD, especially within the framework of the Arab Program for the control of Transboundary Animal Diseases. At the end of the meeting, H.E Prof El Dukhiri presented to the Minister two units for milk production. H.E Prof El Dukhiri said that the AOAD intended through this gift to contribute to the efforts of the ministry to maximize the use of dairy products during the season when the production is high. The Minister commended the initiative of the AOAD to present this gift, which is supports the current efforts of the Government is to modernize and develop the livestock sector.
