Being dully aware of the importance of the rational and wise utilization of the fisheries resources for the sake of the sustainability of the wealth, and inline with its efforts to vitalize means and mechanisms for cooperation and coordination among the Arab countries in the area of fish stock assessment, AOAD has, in collaboration with the Sudanese Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Wealth, began  the implementation of the agreement concluded between the two parties on 7/9/2009 for the implementation of a fish stock assessment project at Jabal Awleya Dam area, South of the Sudanese Capital Khartoum.

Accordingly a field survey was initiated on Thursday 5/11/2009  with the participation of experts from AOAD and the Sudanese Ministry of Animal and Fisheries wealth used  echo system technologies and covered an area of around six thousands (6000) hectare extending over a 50-km long distance.
