The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) holds a National Training Course on " Diagnosis and Monitoring of Brucellosis", Muscat, Oman, 22-26/12/2013

 


The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) organized a National Training Course on " Diagnosis and Monitoring of Brucellosis " Muscat, Sultanate of Oman,22-26/12/2013.The Training course targeted building the capacities of the Arab veterinarians in monitoring and diagnosing brucellosis using the most advanced field and laboratory monitoring and diagnostic techniques, promoting their practical knowhow of internationally adopted modern prevention techniques as well as identifying the most effective methods for treatment and control of the disease.

 The training program addressed the economic problems and damages caused by brucellosis and the international efforts to overcome them. The Program also focused on the modern investigations adopted for diagnosing the disease as well as the modern techniques to control and prevent its occurrence.

AOAD has effectively contributed to the combat of brucellosis and other communicable and transboundary animal diseases that threaten the animal wealth in the region. It has carried out, within the framework of its ongoing project for supporting the national programs on the monitoring and control of transboundary epidemics, a number of epidemiological surveillance and investigative works, technical backstopping, extension, awareness and capacity building programs, to enable the control of such diseases in order to safeguard the livestock in the region.
