AOAD has attended the forum on climate changes which was organized by FAO from 9-10 November 2009 at FAO headquarters, Rome. It was represented by Dr. Abdelhadi Abdelwahab, expert at the natural resources and environment department.

Dr. Abdel Hadi reflected to the forum the vision of AOAD regarding the issues under  discussion  and conveyed the hopes and expectations of the organization for a practical and fruitful outcome of the  forum. He expressed the interest for the roles of the organizations operating in the region  to be clearly defined with due consideration to the preferential distinctions of  each one and the integration of their collective roles. A clear financing vision for the finance of capacity building and communication  programmes should also be drawn  as well as exchange of metrological information with due emphasis on the adaptation to clime changes.

A number of scientific papers were presented before the forum. They focused on the concepts of mitigation and adaptation to climate changes in the sectors of agriculture, forestry and land uses. A documentary film was played before the forum focusing on the issues of climate changes and other related ones.

The forum was attended by experts form the Arab ministries of agriculture, representatives of a number of concerned international and regional agricultural and environment organizations and institutions as well as FAO experts and NGOs.
