The United Nations Industrial Development Organization Delegation visited H.E Prof El Dukhiri, Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development


H.E Prof Ibrahim Adam El Dukhiri, the Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), received on the 24th of December 2017 the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) delegation at the headquarters of the AOAD in Khartoum, Sudan. The UNIDO delegation was represented by Eng. Amir Hassan Abu Bakr, Head of the Development and Investment Program in Sudan, and Dr. Hashim Suleiman Hussain, Head of the Investment and Technology Office of the (UNIDO) in Bahrain.

 H.E Prof El Dukhiri, praised the UNIDO in Sudan and the Bahraini experience to develop entrepreneurship. He also mentioned that entrepreneurship is a dynamic process of invention, innovation and modernization. It is a necessary link in helping to transfer advanced production technologies. It can help Arab countries generate productive work opportunities in all Arab countries and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.

The Delegation referred to the Bahraini Entrepreneurship Model, designed by the UNIDO in Bahrain. The delegation focused on that the small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs have become central to any economic development around the world. The delegation added that centers were also established in Khartoum in the agricultural sector and the leather industry. Moreover, training centers were established, reflecting the Bahraini model of entrepreneurship, in a number of the Sudanese universities, such as Khartoum University, Al-Jazira and Sudan University.

The two sides agreed to cooperate in the fields of entrepreneurship and the need to promote innovation as what came in the sustainable development goals. Especially the ninth goal, which aimed to build a resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and promote innovation.
