The Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukhiri participated in the 8th Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Joint Arab-African Action Plan for Agricultural Development and Food Security held at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, during the period 18-19 July 2018.

The meeting discussed all the arrangements related to the convening of the Fourth Arab-African Ministerial Conference on Agricultural Development and Food Security, including: the agenda, how to announce the conference, make invitations, prepare the documents to be presented at the conference and the arrangements for the activities accompanying the conference.

 The meeting also discussed the proposed projects of the joint Arab-African Action Plan on Agricultural Development and Food Security, especially the four urgent projects and their possible funding mechanism. At the end of the meeting, the report of the Committee and decisions were adopted. The report of the 7th meeting of the Steering Committee, which was held in Khartoum, Sudan, was also adopted.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the AU Commission, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development and the African Development Bank.
