The Sudanese Minister of Animal Resources H.E Dr. Alam Al Deen Abdu Allah Abashar, received at his office the Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam Al-Dukheri and his accompanying delegation. H.E Dr. Abashar appreciated the role played by AOAD in the field of agricultural development in the Arab region.

H.E Prof El Dukheri gave a brief overview of AOAD and its achievements through its programs and activities carried out annually in all Arab countries. He praised the efforts exerted by the Sudanese Government in supporting AOADs’ national and regional activities, noting some programs related to livestock, including the Regional Program for Combating Transboundary Animal Diseases, which completed the first & second phases and the third phase will start during January 2020. He pointed out what has been achieved in the previous phases and the efforts exerted by AOAD to achieve the third phase with the active partners of Arab and international finance funds and the contributions of Arab countries.

H.E Prof El Dukheri explained the desire of AOAD in cooperating technically with the ministry in all that would achieve the agricultural development in Sudan and the Arab countries.

H.E Dr. Abashar praised the efforts exerted by AOAD for sustainable agricultural development and Sudan. Moreover he expressed the ministry's readiness to cooperate with AOAD to support Sudan and the Arab and Islamic countries.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry has been designated as the focal point between AOAD and the Ministry of Animal Resources.
