The Launch of the 1st Phase of the Economic Model Projects was during the 12th of May 2018 in Lebanon. The event was under the patronage of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) Director General H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukhiri and the General Organization for Promoting Investment in Lebanon headed by Eng. In cooperation with the Investment and Technology Promotion Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) represented by its director Dr. Hashim Hussein, and the Lebanon Fund for Development and Innovation, the Regional Fund for Development and Investment and a number of officials in the region.

The aim of this sponsorship was to promote sustainable social and economic development in Lebanon and to institutionalize the Center for Entrepreneurship Development.

H.E Prof. El Dukhiri expressed his great pleasure in participating in laying the foundation stone for the first phase of the project and congratulated all participants in accomplishing this outstanding work. H.E Prof. El Dukhiri pointed out that AOAD is the technical arm of the League of Arab States, since its establishment in 1972 by a decision of the Arab leaders and its headquarters is located in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. The aim was to work on the development and coordination activities related to agricultural development at the regional level, and provide technical assistance in the creation of new means and strategies related to the development of these areas so as to enhance the competitiveness of Arab agricultural products to world markets, and to achieve Arab agricultural integration, and to meet the needs of the Arab countries of agricultural products and agricultural processing.

H.E Prof. El Dukhiri said, that AOAD focused its work on seven programs and the overall objectives of developing Arab agricultural production technologies, encouraging investment and agro-industrialization in Arab agricultural environments, enhancing the competitiveness of Arab agricultural products, proposing and coordinating agricultural legislation and policies in the Arab region, building human and institutional capacities, promoting rural development and prosperity, and manage environmental recourses .

He pointed out that these objectives are summarized in a complete integrated project including agricultural products in addition to agricultural processing. It also contributed directly to reducing poverty through wide horizons and effective projects that create employment opportunities for youth and diversifying sources of national income through cooperation with our partners in a number of Arab countries.

He stressed that he is confident that this project will achieve remarkable success as it relies on integrated strategic partnerships between government institutions, the private sector and the education sector as well as regional and international organizations.

H.E Prof. El Dukhiri pointed out that AOAD is currently working with UNIDO to develop and introduce innovative mechanisms for agriculture and agro-industrialization by linking financial and non-financial services with the aim of establishing and developing micro, small and medium enterprises, especially agricultural and industrial ones. The launch of the region's model economic projects in the province of Kharroub is the first product of this remarkable partnership.

In conclusion, H.E Prof. El Dukhiri stressed AOAD support and determination of the success of this project and the transfer of experience to other Lebanese regions, including to other Arab countries.
