H.E Dr. Tariq al-Zadjali, the Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development(AOAD) has led the organization's delegation to the 5th edition of the international exhibition of fishing and aquaculture (SIPA 2013),which was organized at Oran (west of Algeria) from November 6th to November 9th 2013.

 Being aware of the importance of SIPA and the opportunities it facilitates for professionals and dealers in the sector to meet and discuss matters of mutual interest , AOAD participated in SIPA 2013 by exhibiting its programs and activities in the field of Marine fishing and Aquaculture focusing on the latest innovations in the field.

The Exhibition which being organized under the theme: Together towards the Goal of Responsible, Economic and Integrated Fishing, was opened in the presence of H.E Mr. Said-Ahmed Feroukhi, the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources , Algeria. It attracted more than 100 exhibitors and professionals from inside and outside Algeria (Libya, Mauritania, France, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Japan and Guinea-Bissau) beside a number of International and Regional Organizations such as FAO.

SIPA 2013 has provided an opportunity for the promotion of marine fishing and aquaculture –related activities, beside facilitating a joint meeting between scientists and professionals and allowing for the introduction of the latest technologies in the field of marine fishing and aquaculture with the aim of boosting and strengthening the strategy for sustainable development of aquaculture and fish farming in Algeria.

 The 5th edition of SIPA 2013 has focused on the following main themes: Modernization and Mainstreaming of the various marine fishing sectors, promotion and development of aquaculture branches, promotion of the social-welfare systems, improvement of the livelihood of rural artisanal fishermen and aquaculture list and teaming up of training systems. It has also dealt with such matters as research, development and international cooperation with the company of professionals, integration of the concepts of production and economic, technological and organizational progress.

 The Exhibition was accompanied by a number of activities including the introduction of the main development pillars, investment opportunities in Marine fishing an Aquaculture in Algeria, beside other related activities such as marine salvage, voyages, film shows and competitions.
